An identity for a local restaurant in Lacoste, Provence, France.

Nestled in a small village in Lacoste, southeastern France, De Sade Restaurant needed an identity that paid homage to the rich history of Lacoste, while also giving guests a modern dining experience.

The restaurant was named after Marquis de Sade, a well known historical figure of Lacoste, who was famous for his salacious acts, so much so, that the term “sadism” was coined after his name. So in order to keep the brand warm and welcoming, I created an illustration of de Sade’s silhouette along with the skyline of Lacoste to give the restaurant a local-feel and connect back to the city.
